Our Trustees
With specialised skills in specific areas our Trustees work together to identify charities that could benefit from an alliance with The Foundation of Friends. The Trustees joint desire is to help Children in Need here in Andalucia, Spain.
The Board of Trustees is the governing body of the charity. The Trustees work entirely on a voluntary basis receiving no remuneration or expenses.

TONY LEE (CHAIRMAN)
Tony Lee founded The Foundation of Friends after several years of working to raise money and awareness for AVOI (Asociación De Voluntarios De Oncologia Infantil), the volunteer association supporting children with leukaemia at Materno Infantil Hospital in Malaga. Tony and his family became aware of the valuable work carried out by AVOI when their youngest son was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2004 and received excellent treatment from the medical team at ‘Materno’ and wonderful support from AVOI founder Juan Carmona and his team of volunteers.
Tony has lived in Spain with his wife Susie and 3 boys since 2002 when they moved here from Harrogate in Yorkshire.
JONATHON DRURY (TRUSTEE)
Jonathon was born in Harare, Zimbabwe (1970) and lived there until the age of seven when, with his family, he emigrated to the UK. Settling in Gravesend, Kent, Jonathon attended the local Grammar School before heading to London to the University of Westminster achieving a B.Sc. First Class Hons. Degree in Photography and Electronic Imaging Sciences.
After several years working in the publishing industry in the UK, Jonathon moved to France and in 1995, Spain where he has remained since. Married with two children, Jonathon now runs a successful publishing and design company providing creative support for a wide range of businesses.
LEÓN FERNANDO DEL CANTO (TRUSTEE)
León Fernando del Canto is an International Tax Barrister qualified in England and Spain, with over twenty years of experience in most EU jurisdictions and the USA. Fernando is the Managing Partner of Konsilia, with offices in Jerez, Sotogrande, Marbella and Southampton. He has worked with Deloitte, KPMG and Grant Thornton in the UK, USA and Spain. Fernando serves and provides counsel to several family foundations and public charities in Spain, UK and the USA.
He lives in Sotogrande with his wife Eva and two children.
